Introducing the Mental Wealth Web Summit

On Wednesday 4th April Mental Wealth UK will be running a day of seminars, sharings, and discussions about how to build Mental Wealth Groups, promote wellbeing, and create happier, healthier university campuses. This will be the UK’s first online event for student mental health & wellbeing. Find out more here: http://bit.ly/mwukweb.

In the build-up, from Monday 2nd April, we will be blogging news, reviews, and ideas from Mental Wealth UK – featuring the best from the UK’s student-led mental health and wellbeing advocacy groups. We will also be running a Pitch Challenge, inviting campaigners to come up with, and promote an idea for improving student wellbeing. The ideas will be discussed by a panel of judges on Wednesday, and – based on the buzz the ideas have generated, their feasibility, and creativity – the best one will be awarded with £300.

To submit resources or ideas, or to contribute your time and energy, contact home[at]mentalwealthuk.com. Otherwise visit here to register for the event:http://bit.ly/mwukweb or follow the blog from Monday here:http://mentalwealthuk.tumblr.com.

Funding Appeal

Over the past 2.5 years, the Mental Wealth Project has engaged with staff and students across the UK to tackle mental health problems, improve the lives of students, and make university campuses healthier, happier places.

In 2011 we achieved our target of establishing student-led advocacy groups at 25 university campuses. Each of these groups are now working to build infrastructure to support students, and to deliver campaigns that tackle discrimination and promote wellbeing.

As we look ahead to the next three years, we want to continue to build this network and provide it with the support needed to maximise impact. We also want to provide world-class training to young people that helps them promote the wellbeing of themselves and others, and increases the active role that they can play in society. To do this, we need your help.

You can download our funding appeal here or contact us at home[at]mwfnd.org.
